Ms. Karen H. | Lead Teacher
Meet Ms. Karen, our passionate team member with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development and an emphasis in Family and Consumer Sciences! She joined our Center in 2017 and has been making a positive impact ever since. Karen is not only First Aid and CPR certified, but she also brings a vibrant energy to her role, ensuring a safe and fun environment for our little ones. You can find her here, excited to make a difference from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. everyday!
Ms. Bree S. | Assistant Teacher
Bree became a valued member of the Hillcrest teaching team in November 2023, stepping in as a support teacher. By January 2024, she took on the role of Assistant Teacher in the Cyclone Classroom. Bree is dedicated to her work, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and is certified in First Aid and CPR, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
ENVIRONMENT

An exciting room where children feel safe to refine kindergarten readiness and social skills

Children refine their skills using the structures of group care that will help ease the transition into kindergarten and the school system. Teachers are aware of school expectations and work on them with the children.

CURRICULUM

Lesson plans consist of activities in social emotional growth, motor skill development, acquisition of language, cognitive development and Christianity

Activities are planned using individual time, small groups, large groups, and music and movement

An emphasis is placed on the three areas of math concepts: number and operations, spatial relationships and measurements

Children are exposed to all areas of development through theme-based units that encourage exploration and curiosity

Children continue practicing writing skills by participating in activities that work their small muscle group

During the summer, this class has special activities and field trips each week
